United supermarkets Amarillo, Arizona, are set to begin offering groceries to their customers as soon as this fall.
The new store is being built by a partnership between the United Stores Amarilla and Walmart.
It will be the first grocery store in the United States to accept the popular grocer’s Whole Foods Market program, which allows consumers to shop for groceries at their local Walmart store.
The move will give United supermarkets a foothold in the nation’s grocery market, a market that has seen rapid growth in recent years, with shoppers spending an estimated $1.2 trillion a year on groceries, according to a recent report by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.
It’s the latest sign that U.S. shoppers are embracing the convenience of online shopping, and the rise of online grocery shopping has made it easier for retailers to tap into customers’ shopping habits and reach consumers across a wide array of demographic groups.
Walmart has been expanding its online grocery service to include other grocery retailers as well.
While United stores will be selling groceries to consumers, the brand has been working to broaden its grocery offerings to the grocery chain’s customers, as well, said Doug Rocha, chief operating officer of Walmart.
The store, expected to open later this year, will serve customers in Arizona, California, Florida, Texas, Washington, Maryland, New York and Pennsylvania.
The store is expected to sell grocery items such as fresh produce, meats, and prepared meats.
In the near term, Walmart hopes to expand its grocery services to more stores in the U.K., Canada and Australia.
Rocha declined to say how many customers Walmart expects to purchase at the new store.
Walmart is currently selling groceries at a number of stores in Canada and the U, but Rochas goal is to open a store in each state and U.N. member states in the coming months.
United stores will sell groceries to shoppers at a variety of grocery retailers, but the brand is focusing its focus on offering consumers a variety and more convenient options than other retailers, said Rochos chief operating executive, Jason Farrow.
The brand is also making changes to its menu, which will focus on healthier options such as produce, meat and dairy.
The grocery chain will also offer more traditional grocery items, such as meats and prepared meat.
When it opens, the store will be in the same building as Walmart’s existing stores, which it purchased from Sam’s Club in 2006.
It’s expected to be the fourth U.P. store for the retailer.
Walmart is currently the nation´s largest retailer, with more than 5,400 stores, according the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
At Walmart, it has more than 1,400 U.s. stores, with an average of 7,700 stores per store.
Walmart’s overall U. S. stores are expected to grow at an annual rate of 6.7 percent this year.
