Canadian grocery giant Wal-Mart has been named the world’s top food brand by a global organisation.
The World Bank, a non-profit organization that promotes and supports sustainable development and development of sustainable food systems, ranked the grocery giant in its annual list of top 100 global brands, with the $11.2-billion global retail giant coming in second place.
Wal-Mart, which is headquartered in Bentonville, Ark., also came in third place, behind rival Kroger.
The top ten brands are based on retail sales in 2017, which includes sales from food, clothing, personal care and home goods.
