Supermarkets will soon be selling flowers, including ones that are more common in Australia’s eastern states.
The state-owned supermarket chain has announced that it will be adding flowers to its shelves.
A spokesperson for Woolworths told ABC Radio Melbourne that it has been working with the Australian Botanic Gardens to develop new varieties of plants that will be used in its flower beds.
“We have been testing various new plants, including the species of rose, the most commonly used species of flower in Australia, and we have also developed a range of other plants that have been used in the past by Woolworth’s customers,” the spokesperson said.
“This has included the Australian Rose Family, which is an exotic, native species of the rose family.”
In addition to these new plants and plants that are currently in production, we are also looking to add some additional flowers to the shelves.
“Woolworths’ flower beds have long been a popular source of customer feedback, with many saying the flowers were the most attractive and fragrant in their home.”
