The mom and pop supermarket chain Mom’s supermarket is about to get an overhaul.
The chain will be merging with Walmart in 2019.
It is the first retailer to be merged with Walmart, following the acquisition of Whole Foods Market last year.
In a statement, Mom’s CEO Robyn Hensley said: “I am incredibly proud of the accomplishments that our team has made over the past five years and we are truly excited to continue our legacy with Walmart.”
She added: “The consolidation of our two largest retail chains is an incredible opportunity to create a single, world-class retailer with unmatched customer experience and competitive pricing.”
We are thrilled to welcome Walmart to the family, and look forward to welcoming our customers back in 2019.
“In a bid to bolster its consumer brand, Mom has introduced a range of new products, including a new range of organic baby products.
Mom’s will also be introducing a new digital store in the coming months.
While it is unclear when the new store will open, a store in New York is currently on the way.
More to come.
