In the UK the number of sandwich stores has risen from 3,000 in 2001 to over 6,000 now.
Burger chain Superking has plans to open its first sandwich shop in Oxford, the first ever to be built in the country.
Other major sandwich chains such McDonald’s, Subway and KFC have also opened shop in Britain in recent years.
If you are in the US, the chain KFC opened its first UK store in Oxford in 2015.
